Domestic handset maker Ringing Bells will launch India’s most affordable smartphone ‘Freedom 251’ at Rs 251. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikkar will launch the smartphone ‘Freedom 251’ on February 17.
According to the company, the smartphone Freedom 251 will be on sale starting from 6AM tomorrow.The phone will also have pre-installed apps to help rural and semi-urban buyers in general. Also, Freedom251 comes with 1 year worth of warranty backed by Ringing Bells’ 650 service centers across India.
The smartphone runs on the latest Android Lollipop 5.1 OS and comes with 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. Impressively, the smartphones comes packed with 1GB RAM that which can easily run data-intensive apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, and gaming apps. The phone also has 8GB internal memory which can be expanded to 32GB with a micro SD card.
Freedom 251 has 4-inch screen, and the device supports 3G network. For photo-freaks, the cheapest smartphone, sports camera of 3.2 megapixel primary camera (rear camera) and 0.3 megapixel the front for selfies.The phone comes packed with 1,450 mAh battery.
Established last year, Ringing Bells will start with the assembly of handsets in Phase-I and aims at full indigenous development of the feature-rich smartphones, it said.
