Adding one more feather to its cap, global search giant Google today launches an artificial intelligence (AI) centric smart messaging app – Google Allo – for both iOS and Android platforms.

Basically, Google Allo uses best of Google’s predictive and search superpowers along with an all-new personal assistant feature in order to offer a fully new experience to users.
In addition to all the traditional features of an existing messaging apps from Facebook, Google or Whatspp, the newly launched Google Allo plans to integrate a personal Google Assistant feature which will allows users to have a conversation with Google. The search giant claims that now one can ask a question directly to Google and it will help get things done directly in their chat box.
For example, if you receive a message from your friend about your recent trip to Las Vegas, asking “How was the trip”. Google says with the help of a smart reply feature now you need not to type the entire text, the chat box will automatically offer you few options to reply such as “It was awesome”. You just need to tap once and your are done with it.
Throughout the conversations, the app will suggest words and phrases before one start typing. In addition, this smart reply feature will also suggest responses for photos. If your friend sends you a photo of their pet, you might see smart reply suggestions like “aww cute!”. Google says that the smart reply will improve over time and adjust to user life-style.
According to company official, Google Allo will help a user say more and do more right within chats including making plans, finding information, and expressing more easily with the help of innovative features which includes smart reply, options for sharing photos, emojis and stickers.
A preview edition of Google Assistant which is being introduced with Google Allo will help user in getting the latest information for the things that matter, whether it’s news, weather, traffic, sports, or upcoming flight status. It will also help in finding nearby places and making plans with friends.
Like Whatsapp, all the chats in Google Allo will be encrypted using industry standard technologies like Transport Layer Security (TLS). And, similar to Chrome, there is a created mode within Google Allo called Incognito. When users chat in Incognito mode, messages have end-to-end encryption and additional privacy features like discreet notifications and message expiration.
For Indian users, Google Allo has enabled smart replies in Hinglish and there are over 200 stickers created by popular independent artists that will appeal to Indian users, says Google.
