ITC Infotech, a global IT services and solutions company, and a fully owned subsidiary of ITC Ltd., has completed the first phase of PLM implementation for Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE), a key laboratory division of DRDO.
As part of the project, ITC Infotech supplied and installed the hardware including integration with the existing IT network of CVRDE, supply of PTC’s Windchill software licenses and implementation of PLM solutions as per CVRDE’s requirements. The implementation has reduced CVRDE’s design and development cycle time, while also improving the quality of design output and minimizing efforts in Transfer of Technology (TOT) process.
The CVRDE PLM implementation is the largest PLM project for DRDO laboratory in India with a user base of 200. While the phase 1 of the implementation has gone live, the entire PLM implementation project will involve interacting with 25 different divisions within CVRDE and designing and deploying a harmonious new product development process across CVRDE.
The implementation will provide benefits like traceability, easy access and risk reduction, better teamwork due to collaborative environment, data integrity, faster go to market (reduced design cycles), knowledge driven automation and knowledge fusion (to ensure consistency and adherence to corporate standards) to CVRDE.
