Ajay Kaul, Director – Sales, Public Business, Dell India, talked about the company’s various services and the factors that were driving the data center market. Kaul said that India was witnessing huge momentum across segments including railroads, roadways, aviation etc. “There is lot of positivity and energy to move forward,” he said. Given this huge business opportunity, Dell has cashed in by acquiring almost 20 companies in a span of 30 months, in order to provide world-class data center solutions.
“We ventured into the government sector about three years back. Till that time, we were doing more business with corporate houses, global companies, consumers and online users. We felt that there was a huge amount of potential in the government sector and that our technology could be showcased here,” Kaul said.
Dell recently launched its 12th generation servers, which help simplify the power and cooling environment in a data center. “From the government’s perspective, we see these servers being deployed in various temperature zones/ terrains, where we may not have the favorable conditions of cooling that are typically required in a data center. These servers can help ensure better performance with easier manageability.
He also mentioned Dell’s offerings on the storage side and how it helped organizations come to terms with Big Data. “The best part about the solutions that Dell offers is uniformity. Whatever solutions we provide in US, Japan or China are the same that we offer in India. Whatever development happens, global. All of the applications come pre-tested on Microsoft, Linux etc,” Kaul concluded.
