Ezetap, a Bangalore based Mobile POS solution, has announced that Big Basket, the leading provider of groceries has introduced the Ezetap Card on Delivery service, allowing customers to now order groceries online and pay safely and conveniently at the time of delivery. The service had been piloted for several months and is now available to all customers across Bangalore, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
Increased penetration of the Internet and Mobile Internet, busy lifestyles, traffic hassles and most importantly access to high quality products has led to a significant increase in internet commerce in the past few years – not just in metros but also in smaller towns and cities in India.
However, consumers are often not comfortable paying online – and prefer to pay at the time of delivery. Ezetap’s Card on Delivery service allows delivery agents to use their mobile phones as secure credit card terminals – and ensures that consumers do not have to worry about having cash/exact change at home.

We were low on cash and the thought of running to the nearest ATM bothered me. We [even] offered to cut a cheque.
