This is the first model in a range of high performance servers that harnesses the power of Intel’s latest Xeon E5-2600-series processors and Supermicro’s high-density 2U Twin server architecture. Offering a combination of four hot-pluggable nodes within a 2U enclosure, this ultra-dense server provides up to eight, 16-thread CPUs in a single 2U chassis. The Quattro 1264-T represents a new range of energy-efficient servers developed in partnership with Supermicro and based on Intel’s new generation of E5 processors.
Price: Approximately $34,000. Due to Supermicro’s 2U Twin architecture, the server contains four hot-pluggable nodes. So essentially it offers four servers in a 2U chassis working out to $8,500 per server.
