Strata raises USD $1.5 Million in seed round from SAIF Partners, Mayfield India and PropStack

Strata, tech-enabled commercial real estate investment platform has raised USD $1.5 Million in a seed round led by SAIF Partners and Mayfield India. Real estate data analytics platform, PropStack and three other prominent angel investors with commercial real estate backgrounds have also participated in the round. Targeting a market size that is expected to grow to $1 Trillion by 2030, Strata aims to create new investment opportunities in premium commercial properties for the aspirational middle-class Indians who to date could only invest in low-yielding residential properties.

Currently operational in Bangalore (HQ) and Mumbai, Strata is hoping to double in team size this year to over 45 members, with a majority of hiring in roles related to technology and investor relations. With 1500 users and 150 active investors on the platform, the brand plans to utilize the fresh raise to expand to other metro cities and strengthen its current tech stack.

Incorporated in May 2019, Strata recognizes the fact that real estate investors in India are making poor bets due to lack of relevant experience, unavailability of right data sets and insufficient capital which is needed to invest in prime properties. Therefore, the platform is designed with a three-pronged approach which is to help reduce the high capital requirement for investors, bring in expertise and introduce liquidity to an otherwise rigid marketplace.
