How Machine Learning or AI is the future of Education

As humans, we are expected to take various decisions on an everyday basis. The decisions vary in degree, they can be as simple as increasing the speed of a car to as difficult as buying a new car. All our decisions are based on our personal experiences and exposure. It is all a matter of how our brain perceives past experiences and turns them into intelligent lessons defining our present and future. Though we are rational creatures, we are not free from prejudices and biases when it comes to making decisions. However, we can’t control the impact these unconscious prejudices have on our decision-making process, but we can try to minimize it. We can try to guide and train our minds.

The desire to train the mind also led me to explore and feed my curiosity to control the workings of various machines around me. For what is human mind but a complex machine? This curiosity led me to explore and learn about the concepts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

In the words of Yann LeCun, “Our intelligence is what makes us human, and AI is an extension of that quality.”In simple terms, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of Computer Science that deals with the ability to teach machines to learn and imitate human behaviour and pattern. It is a form of neural networks based on various algorithms designed to prepare machines in a way that they assist humans in all their tasks by learning human behaviour. 

With the introduction of various AI miracles like face recognition applications and driverless cars, we’re seeing various new trends in the field of technology. These advancements are proof that AI has an exponential potential to transform the face of the world. It is important to note that AI will not only impact the technological industries but each and every professional field present in the world. It would change the way we see the world, ourselves, and other humans. In fact, it has already begun its journey!

A significant impact of AI can be seen in the Education industry. For quite a while, the education framework has regarded all students as equivalent. However, in all actuality, each student is unique and thus requires a unique learning experience. The future will see AI frameworks alter the learning experience by having customized learning framework for each student, dependent on their qualities and shortcomings.

It would also allow the development of special teaching procedures, specific to the needs of all students. AI would create an extremely beneficial learning experience for students, based on their skills and comfort. It would also create a better learning space with the full-scale development of Smart-Classrooms and AI tutors. 

Artificial Intelligence, with the help of the teachers, would also allow tracking the right career path for each student. AI, with the help of data collected based on user experience, would have a transient and seamless procedure to help students identify their career paths.

With such rapid development expected in the world, there is a huge demand in the industry for experts/professionals who could cater to these rapid changes, but our education system isn’t agile enough to fulfil these skilful requirements. Keeping this discrepancy in mind, Coding Blocks was born to help students become skilled and get industry-ready.
