Persons with disabilities will soon get a government-run online platform to explore job opportunities in various companies.
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is planning to launch a job portal in next three months for the differently-abled people.
Though private services have already come up with such an initiative, it is for the first time that the Ministry is creating an online facility for Persons with disabilities. “It would be a portal, where firms would be posting the vacancies and differently-abled people can look for jobs of their choice,” Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Joint Secretary, Department of Disability Affairs said.
Observing that tenders have been invited for this purpose, he said that the website is likely to be launched in three months time.
He was speaking at a meeting of stakeholders of National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC). Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot said that meetings must be conducted at frequent intervals, where differently-abled entrepreneurs can share their experiences about their successful ventures with others.
He also suggested that incentives could be extended for the beneficiaries, who promptly return their loan, availed through State Channelising Agencies of NHFDC.
