Jammu and Kashmir Traffic police has teamed up with digital media portal ‘U4U Voice’ to launch an awareness campaign addressing violations spiked by motorists in the state.
IGP Traffic Muneer Khan along with the U4U Voice Group Chairman, Arun Kumar Gupta, launched an awareness campaign which intends to address two major traffic violation problems encountered on a day-to-day basis.
“We have launched an awareness campaign today which intends to address two major traffic violation problems encountered on a day to day basis, particularly seat belts and no honking”, Gupta said here.
Among the guidelines issued to the citizens, two major issues are the fastening of seat belts that most drivers carelessly ignore and the unwanted honking that marks the driving style of most of the motorists, he said.
The effects of noise pollution do not become prominent immediately but they severely cause damage to humans affecting the hearing ability, the nervous system and are also the basis for many heart related problems, he said.
The pollution affects those who drive or are the co-passengers, the pedestrians and those who reside near the main roads, he added.
Stickers with signs of no-honking and compulsory seat belt were released by IGP Traffic.
