In order to bring in transparency, the Water Resources Ministry has decided to undertake digitisation of clearances from the Central Ground Water Board and applications/requests received from the states.
Under the new plan, the Ministry has decided to put all the schemes and applications/requests by the states online.
The request and the status of the file can also be viewed online. “This is an initiative to bring more transparency in the procedure. Under this, permissions from the Central Ground Water Board and requests by the state will be digitalised.
The entire process will take almost two months to take shape,” said an official. Apart from this, every state will have a separate password-protected account.
The account will have all the information about the funds allocated to the state and money spent by them. The official added that the permissions sought by industries from the Central Ground Water Board would be done online. Even ‘No Objection Certificates’ can be availed online.
