Cloud computing is harnessed to manage the security of numerous devices across different locations, specifically when dealing with diverse security standards and multiple vendors. Z Scaler has introduced two methods to address this issue. The first focuses on securing Zero Configuration IoT devices by collecting fingerprints and operational data and receiving updates. This method helps determine the security risks associated with these devices. The second involves intercepting traffic to IoT devices using predefined rules.

The company has filed multiple patents on monitoring and displaying security posture and risk with a cloud-based system. As well as discussed a novel method of using Machine Learning to detect malicious Office documents.

4. Centralised security controls
In contrast to traditional security methods, cloud environments feature a centralised console or management platform. This streamlines security administration tasks such as access controls, encryption configuration, and security policy management. Not only does it save time, but ensures consistency, and enhances overall security across the organization. With improved visibility and control, businesses can effectively monitor, respond to
incidents, perform trend analysis, and make informed decisions.

QNu Labs, founded at IIT Madras Research Park, exemplifies the universities role in enhancing cloud technology. This trend suggest we might see numerous spin-offs and collaborations from these institutions in the near future.
