This power panel discussion at the 17th edition of Express Technology Sabha, focused on the present status of cyber security in the country and the ways to address the challenges.
During the discussion the panelist were of the view that we are witnessing a rather tepid approach towards security, especially in government departments. Because of shortage of officers who are qualified as cyber security experts, the challenges have been compounded.
Sanjay Sahay said that the time has come to recognise cyber security as a separate domain from normal policing and officers must be given special training to handle the cyber security cases.
Ranjan Dwivedi pointed out that there was lot of solutions available in the market for cyber security but hardly any of them are in Indian languages. He was of the view that people and organisations would benefit once we have an architecture, which offers solutions in local language.
