Airtel has become the first private telecommunications operator to offer telecom services in Lachen, a small town in north Sikkim.
With a tower installed at an altitude of 9,360 feet, Airtel has enabled seamless connectivity in Lachen, enabling customers to easily stay connected to their near and dear, the company said in a statement.
With this, Lachen is now connected with Lachung, it added.
The services were launched in the presence of Pepan, Head of Lachen along with the Heads of the Lama Community, Lachen Gram Panchayat and senior Army officials.
