Fortinet has announced that it has appointed Redington to distribute Fortinet’s entire range of network security solutions in the country. Redington will distribute Fortinet’s FortiGate UTM solutions and the vendor’s newer security solutions.
“Redington’s broad channel base, value-added distribution model and long-standing experience in selling varied security, storage and software solutions will be a key advantage as we seek to cultivate new geographies and market verticals in India,” said Vishak Raman, Fortinet’s Senior Regional Director for India and SAARC. “In particular, Redington’s traction in the tier-2 and tier-3 cities, and their well-managed credit and marketing policies, will help us gain incremental market share.”
Redington’s appointment is a continuation of an aggressive channel expansion program Fortinet announced last year. Under that program, Fortinet will appoint at least 300 channel partners in India and the SAARC region by the end of 2012.
“The introduction of Fortinet’s well established UTM portfolio significantly enhances the quality of our security vertical offerings to our VAR/SI partners,” said R. Venkatesh, Head –Strategic Business Unit, Redington. “We have inducted a Fortinet trained pre-sales team to support Fortinet certified partners here and will work closely with the Fortinet India team to expand market opportunities, especially in non-metro locations.”
In the coming months, Redington will also roll out reseller training programs, lead generation events and end user activities nationwide.
