The country”s third largest mobile operator by revenues and subscriber base, the Aditya Birla group”s, Idea Cellular has launched high-speed 4G services across 75 towns in the five southern states of Andhra Pradesh & Telengana, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

With this Idea becomes the third operator, after Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India to have started 4G services ahead of the launch of such services by Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio Infocomm.
“The launch of Idea 4G LTE services will further expand Idea’s wireless best online casino broadband network and propel the brand to an even higher growth trajectory, consolidating its market position,” Himanshu Kapania, managing director, Idea Cellular, said in a statement.
Idea Cellular currently holds 1800 MHz 4G spectrum in these 10 circles which cover 50% of the telecom market but over 60% of Idea’s gross revenue.
“Idea will rapidly expand 4G services in all Southern India metros and large towns including Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Mangalore and Coimbatore by March 2016,” the company said in a statement. By that time, the Mumbai-based telecom company also plans to launch 4G services in other key markets namely, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra & Goa, Punjab, Haryana, North East and Orissa, in a phased manner. By June 2016, Idea’s 4G footprint will cover 750 cities across 10 telecom circles, it said.
As part of the plans, Idea Cellular is offering a free 4G SIM upgrade, and content such as movies, music and games content, apart from attractive subscription plans to gain new user and retain existing consumers. The company has also launched a trial pack in these towns for Rs29, it added.
