Infor, a leading provider of business application software has recently announced an enhanced version of its Supply Chain Execustion (SCE) solution. The new iteration of the solution, is designed to further reduce complexities in warehousing and logistics management and clarify daily decision making.
SCE is designed to provide a single, unified solution to meet warehousing, transportation, labor and 3PL billing needs. SCE 10.2 promises to unite the strategic, tactical and operational elements of supply chain execution, and empower users to manage logistical needs.
According to Infor, the new solution incorporates more than 100 new core industry features, including mobile and voice enablement, visual metrics, and ION integration to ERP. It can be used across a wide array of industries including manufacturing, distribution, high tech, fashion, food & beverage and 3PL.
Key enhancements to the solution include an innovative iPad app called Warehouse Director, which is designed to provides managers with a real-time view of warehousing activities from a simple and easy-to-use mobile platform.
The app features a color-coded metrics panel to better visualize management of incoming and outgoing workloads. The location panel is equipped with inventory heat maps and zoom-able overviews of the warehouse floor. These features let users monitor critical functions such as: expected work volume, location queries and inventory information at a glance, while still maintaining the flexibility to work from a remote location.
The update also equips the solution with voice capabilities that can allow users a hands-free approach to interaction within the supply chain. Operators can perform tasks such as picking, cycle management and replenishment using voice-activated commands, thereby adding a new level of control and convenience to enhance operational efficiency.
Furthermore, Infor’s ION technology enables integration between Infor SCE and existing ERP solutions, and therefore promises to provide users greater visibility and data exchange across Infor and non-Infor ERP systems. Finally, the latest iteration of SCE is also available in ten languages, for customers in more than 40 different countries.
