The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), organised a State Capacity Building Workshop on Emerging Technologies in collaboration with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Held on November 5-6, 2024, the workshop is part of NeGD’s ongoing efforts under the Digital India programme to strengthen state capabilities in emerging technologies through its Capacity Building Scheme. These workshops aim to demystify the transformative potential of new technologies for enhancing service delivery and guiding policy development in the evolving digital landscape.

Hosted by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and NeGD, the workshop was attended by over 150 government officials. The first day featured a leadership training session designed for senior government officers, including the Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Commissioners, and Secretaries from various departments, as well as officials from the Department of IT and Communication. On the second day, November 6, 2024, mid-level training for directors and other key officers was conducted.

During the inaugural session, Shri Manish Gupta, Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh, shared his insights on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in governance and administration. He highlighted both the practical benefits and the challenges of integrating AI into government operations, drawing on real-life examples.
