Quantum Storage India announces investments and appoints Country Manager

Quantum Storage India has announced the opening of offices in Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi. It has also appointed Guna Sekaran R as its Country Manger for India & Sri Lanka. The company will open two Centers of Excellence in Bangalore and Delhi to showcase the solutions of Quantum Corporation and customers can run Proof of Concept, Demo and Performance Testing for the same.

“As the storage market in India is growing rapidly, we see a substantial opportunity for data protection and big data solutions across government sectors, large corporations and fast emerging SMB segment,” said Jeff Lebold, Quantum Area Vice President of Sales. “Guna, with his expertise in the storage arena and related technologies, coupled with industry-wide relationships, will be an asset to the company, customers, and partners all alike.”

In his role, Guna will be responsible for expanding Quantum’s customer base, market share and partnerships, thereby strengthening company foothold across the regions.

On his appointment, Guna Sekaran R said, “While Quantum has an existing large customer base in the region, there is potential to grow this more significantly in Quantum’s fiscal 2013. I will apply my past experiences to tap the growing market demands in the region.”

Guna brings over 19 years of experience to the role, having previously held positions in sales, sales management and channel management. He joined Quantum Storage India from Huawei Symantec, India, where he headed Channels, Sales, Marketing & Alliances. Prior to this, he held positions at Hitachi Data Systems, NetApp, Quantum, Tandberg Data and Ingram Micro. He holds an Engineering Degree in Computer Science and Business Degree from the reputed Bharathidasan and Annamalai universities in Tamil Nadu.
