SAP India has announced a roadmap to strengthen its Cloud business in India. The new strategy came into place after the acquisition of SuccessFactors that plays in the human capital management (HCM) space and extends SAP’s services beyond small- and mid-sized companies to include large enterprises.
“We see a huge potential for Cloud computing technology. The major differentiator for us is that we offer unparalleled ability to our customers to integrate and take advantage of all their compute resources into Cloud to suit their business needs,” said Neeraj Athalye, Head Cloud Business, SAP India.
SAP has over 17 million users and 5,000 customers in more than 168 countries and in 35 languages in the Cloud space. SAP India also enjoys a sizeable Cloud market share and is witnessing traction across verticals. Some recent customer wins in India include Mithila Cars India Ltd., a leading Hyundai car dealer in Mumbai; Indore-based Yashas FRP Manufacturing Ltd., a manufacturer of high-performance Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP) products and Asian Oilfield Services Ltd., a provider of geophysical, drilling and well services, based in Gurgaon. Varanasi based Kaysons Electrical Pvt. Ltd is a customer led by SAP channel partner, Cloud way Softech. Kaysons is an electrical design and manufactures component for Diesel Locomotives.
While the integrated suite of SAP Business ByDesign and Business One OnDemand solutions will continue to address the small and medium businesses, the large enterprises will be served by a portfolio of line-of-business solutions as part of the new strategy.
SAP also aims to take the Cloud market beyond software-as-a-service (SaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS), targeting new areas such as collaboration (including both people-centric applications and business network solutions, information and mobile services), information services (including business intelligence in the Cloud and data services) and mobile services (especially mobile device management in the Cloud).
Other prominent SAP Cloud customers in India include Genotypic Technology, Prognosys eServices Pvt. Ltd., Ace Data Devices Pvt Ltd., Affordable Business Solutions (ABS), Zinnov, iSAT Network Engineers, Design Excellence and Nokia.
