Serco, the FTSE 100 international service company, today announced the opening of a new facility at Shimoga in Karnataka. Located at Habeebulla Complex, Savalanga Road, the facility will offer BPO services to a leading private telecom service provider. The facility is expected to generate employment opportunities for 450 people by November, of this 300 have already been hired.

The domestic IT-BPO market is expected to grow 17% to reach Rs 91,800 crores in FY2012. The domestic BPO market is expected to reach Rs 14,900 crores, driven by demand from voice-based services (local languages) and increased adoption by both traditional and emerging verticals, including the government.
