Located at DLF Cybercity, the new campus is UST Global’s first telecom Center of Excellence worldwide, aimed at improving the customer experience and operational efficiencies of Communication Service Providers (CSPs) in the country.
It will have capabilities in providing consulting, customer service and order management, network management, billing and data warehousing, analytics services, M2M and NOC planning, operations and management.
In addition, the center will provide service delivery for numerous international clients in the telecom and other sectors including healthcare, retail, BFSI and government and is fully integrated into the company’s global network.
Alexander Varghese, Chief Administrative Officer & Country Head, UST Global said,“We chose Gurgaon as a strategic business location and telecom center of excellence for its business environment, talent pool and infrastructure. Owing to its proximity to the national capital, the center will also serve as an anchor for our government sector business in which we are experiencing positive growth prospects.
“We are committed to innovative talent development, management and recruitment in India, and are working towards having as many as 1,000 employees on board in our new center in the next eight to ten months. More than 50% of our human resources will be acquired from lateral hiring,” added Varghese.
“The advent of 3G, 4G, LTE technologies and cloud-based services for M2M or machine-to-machine connectivity and mobility services such as mobile money, mobile health and mobile education has changed the way service providers cater to their customers. To remain competitive, they need to be agile, innovative, and incredibly customer focused. The government’s decision to allow 100% foreign direct investment (FDI) in telecom is further expected to change the dynamics,” said Vivek Varshney, Vice President & Head, Telecom vertical, UST Global.
“We believe that with our experience of providing wide range of mission-critical IT services in the telecommunications domain and our hybrid global model, UST Global is finely poised to meet the newfound needs of the industry. Our new center of excellence in Gurgaon will cater to needs of telecom service providers, with specialized services such as interoperability testing lab and customized solutions,” added Varshney.
UST Global will be hiring professionals specializing in telecom OSS & BSS, network management, and customer experience management as well as those having expertise in emerging areas like M2M communications to support its growth in Gurgaon.
The opening of this new center expands UST Global’s presence in India. This is the fifth global delivery center in addition to campuses in India-headquarter Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Bangalore and Chennai which employ more than 8,500 of the 11,500-strong global workforce.
