Air India today launched its mobile app to enable passengers book tickets in a “quick, simple and convenient” manner while on the go and formally opened its account on Twitter.
The mobile app, launched by airline CMD Rohit Nandan, would be initially available on the Android platform but would soon be extended to the iOS as well, a statement said.
It would allow the user to book tickets, manage bookings, check-in for a flight, look up fare details and make special requests for meals and wheelchair.
While launching the app, Nandan said it would “provide the user the ease of booking and check-in with a safe and secure tool”, besides helping Air India in reducing costs.
The airline’s Twitter handle, @airindiain, would open up an important channel of communication with the passengers, he said. Air India has a Facebook site that has been in operation for several months now.
