Tapping technology to reach out to citizens and sort out their problems, Andhra Pradesh Government is launching an online grievance monitoring system. The system, “Mee Kosam”, will be put in place before January 15, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said.
Speaking at a review meeting with IT department officials at Secretariat, he said through the mechanism, people can check status of their grievances/representations by entering their Aadhaar number or the grievance number. Naidu suggested setting up an eGovernance society to monitor and track the progress of delivery of citizen-related services online. He also asked the department to draft the country’s first “Right to Good Governance Act”.
The Chief Minister asked the department to disburse 10,000 tablets to village-level officers immediately to collect data on public welfare schemes and key indicators and upload them online. IT Advisor J Satyanarayana said incubation centres for start-ups are ready to commence operations in Kakinada and Tirupati.
Naidu suggested officials to consider setting up of such centres in universities and colleges. The CM said his Government will hold digital literacy camps in Anantapur, Chittoor, Guntur, West Godavari and Srikakulam districts.
The first phase of this project should be completed by March. Stating that the Centre has sought clarification on certain issues related to Visakhapatnam Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) project, he asked the IT advisor to provide necessary information and ensure the venture gets all required approvals at the earliest.
Naidu said he will lay the foundation stone of “Signature Tower”, which the Government is positioning as a “symbol of resurgence of IT in Andhra Pradesh” in Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam, by March.
