Gujarat will be playing host to the 18th National Conference on eGovernance which will be held at the Mahatma Mandir complex at Gandhinagar between January 30-31, 2015.
“This will be one of the biggest events to happen after the Vibrant Gujarat summit 2015, where all the states and union territories are expected to participate. The last edition of the conference was held in Kochi,” said a senior official of the state government. The event is being held in the state at a time when Gujarat has been topping the states in the number of e-transactions.
The event will be based on the theme E-Governance: Digital Governance – New Frontier and will explore how the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) has transformed governance from the perspective of the citizens who are largely the beneficiaries of the services.
Two departments of the Government of India —- Department of Electronics and Information Technology and Department of Administrative Reforms and Pubic Grievances — and the Department of Science and Technology, Gujarat will be organisers for the event.
The conference has been providing a platform for policy makers, practitioners, industry leaders and academicians to deliberate, interact and recommend strategy for good governance.
