Noida authority has announced an ‘Intelligent Traffic Management System’ comprising of increased number of CCTV cameras, wi fi facility and e-challan system on the Noida expressway.
Noida Chairman Rama Raman flagged off the PCR fleet at Noida Traffic Management Centre on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
“132 CCTV cameras have been installed on the 23.5 kilometre stretch of Noida and Greater Noida Expressway. Its staff have been manning the traffic management centre round the clock,” Sandeep Chandra, Senior Project Engineer Noida Traffic Cell said.
“We have also planned wi fi facility on the expressway. E-challan system too has been under development. We are linking the national transport server where registration record of vehicles is available online. The systems, though will be inaugurated later,” G P Singh, Finance Controller Noida authority and in charge of the intelligent traffic system said.
The Noida police has already installed 126 CCTV cameras at various crossings in the city.
“A ‘command room’ is being developed at sector 94. CCTV control rooms will be shifted there. The 126 CCTV network too
would be integrated into the system,” Preetinder Singh, SSP said.
“The four-storey command room building is under construction,” he added.
About 23 PCR vehicles have been provided by Noida authority to the police for patrolling in the city. The move is expected to increase police presence in the city and provide a sense of security and safety to residents and visitors.
