Amit Saxena will be based out of Bangalore and will be responsible for conceptualizing and operating an innovative ecosystem to uplift the country’s banking & financial sectors aided by emerging tech solutions.
The objective of the RBI Innovation Hub is to devise customer centric, secure solutions for the banking ecosystem, innovations which are simple, secure, and adaptable. RBIH or the Hub will test potential new capabilities, opportunities in technology and leverage on the same to create viable products or services and enable their adoption for wider reach and greater impact across the country.
The Hub would also develop internal infrastructure to promote fintech research and facilitate engagement with innovators and start-ups and be a enabling body to suggest and assist how innovations can be applied to the banking sector as a whole. RBI has its own Sandbox to test solutions and adapt it for the sector to leverage. This will also promote financial inclusion.
The Hub will collaborate with financial sector institutions, technology industry and academic institutions and coordinate efforts for exchange of ideas and development of prototypes related to financial innovations. It would develop internal infrastructure to promote fintech research and facilitate engagement with innovators and start-ups.
