Well known CTO and renowned transformation leader and entrepreneur, Shiv Kumar Bhasin, has assumed the pivotal role of Chief Transformation Officer at IndusInd Bank.
Speaking with Express Computer, Shiv said, “I have joined IndusInd Bank as Chief Transformation Officer with the mandate for technology and business solutions transformation.”
With a remarkable career spanning over two decades in the global financial services industry, Shiv Kumar Bhasin has left an indelible mark through his expertise in driving digital transformation, enhancing customer experience, and spearheading platform businesses.
Bhasin’s journey encompasses collaborations with esteemed Fortune 500 entities like State Bank of India, Barclays, and Fidelity Investments. He has also made significant contributions to the National Stock Exchange of India, the world’s largest derivative stock exchange in terms of order volume.
During his tenure as the EVP and CTO/COO at NSE, Bhasin played a pivotal role in orchestrating the evolution of the exchange into a fair, interoperable, resilient, and scalable platform. This transformation facilitated the processing of an astonishing 20 billion order messages daily. He harnessed the potential of agile methodologies, cognitive technologies, and big data to fortify the exchange’s performance, security, and overall efficiency.
Bhasin’s achievements extend to his prior role as the Chief Technology Officer of SBI, where he masterminded the establishment of India’s pioneering digital bank platform, Yono. This groundbreaking platform managed to amass over 50 million new customers within a span of less than two years, ultimately achieving an impressive valuation of USD 80 billion. In addition to his numerous professional accomplishments, Bhasin is a distinguished TEDx speaker, a member of esteemed boards, and a holder of patents that underscore his inventive spirit.
