Akamai Technologies, the cloud platform providers to enterprises announced today that HolidayIQ.com, a holiday reviews portal powered by India’s first and largest traveller community, has selected Akamai’s Aqua web experience solution to provide a combination of security and performance solutions,
The deployment has translated into an excellent online experience even during peak traffic for its users. The HolidayIQ.com team has stated that Akamai’s Aqua web experience solution has so far, helped in ensuring consistent site performance, faster delivery of content as well as overall improvement in site availability and scalability as site traffic increased.

The Aqua web experience solution takes advantage of Akamai’s EdgePlatform – a massive network of more than 120,000 of servers in hundreds of networks in more than 80 countries, controlled by network intelligence systems. Moreover, it enables enterprises to extend their Web sites to the Akamai EdgePlatform, thus bringing content closer to end users.
The Akamai Intelligent platform was able to ensure that 90% of HolidayIQ.com’s customer site traffic was delivered from the Akamai edge servers, which resulted in cost savings as far as origin bandwidth was concerned.
In addition, this channeling of traffic resulted in 100% site availability with no downtime. In comparison, if each request had to go through the customer’s origin this would have amounted to additional investment for bandwidth.
