Amazon India extends support to women that wish to come back to corporates after a long period of time. The e-commerce giant has announced the launch of ‘Rekindle 2.0’ which was initially tested in 2016. The initiative helps women come back from their break, and build their corporate careers once again.
After restructuring the pilot structure, rekindle 2.0 provides benefits such as mentoring, on the job learning, flexibility in work hours and onboarding. This would make it easier for women to join back, have more control over their timings and also have the option to work from home.
To make the process smooth, Amazon India will put together peer learning circles to help women with specific skill gaps. To help women cope with work and gradually get back into corporate culture, responsibilities will be given in stages. Once they have joined, a rekindle orientation will help get them acquainted with Amazon’s culture.
This programme is for technology-related jobs and non-technology related jobs too. A minimum of 12 months of career break will be considered for women to be a part of this initiative. They will be hired based on their previous experience and what role will be best suited for them.
