Bombay Dyeing, India’s most trusted bed and bath linen brand has deployed Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to gain business insights, ensure better inventory and stocks management, trend analysis and share unified experience to customers across its stores. With deployment of Dynamics AX 2012 under the nomenclature ‘Project Disha’, Bombay Dyeing has enhanced its operations, bringing in management efficiency that helps in effective and on-time business decisions. Phase I of the project has been rolled out in 9 company outlets with POS solutions providing walk-in customers a “complete shopping experience.” Phase II of the project will be rolled out in Mar-May 2013 that will connect 332 franchise outlets nationwide.
Kirill Tatarinov, President, Microsoft Business Solutions Division said, “Our vision is to empower enterprise and midsize retailers around the world by delivering a complete shopping experience. Working with our retail customers, we provide a seamless and differentiating end-to-end solution for point of sale (pos) multichannel management, store operations, e-commerce, merchandising, financials, supply-chain and more. This enables retailers to gain insight, operate with agility, exceed consumer expectations, and build enduring loyalty with superior time to value. In other words helping them become a ‘Dynamic Retailer.”
Bombay Dyeing wanted full visibility of stock data and had to manually manage most of its business processes like reports, purchase orders, tenders and inventory availability. Inadequate accountability, transparency and controls resulted in unstructured data and lack of meaningful MIS. The deployment of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 solution enabled Bombay Dyeing to increase organizational transparency and responsibility, improve productivity of processes and personnel; minimizing human errors and improving business operations and controls.
“Microsoft Dynamics AX has helped us improve key business processes significantly. It enhances speed and accuracy of accounts, invoicing, stocking and other areas. We no longer maintain separate sheets for each task, which were often hard to access and interlink to one another. This deployment has geared us to provide better services to our customers and we have also witnessed productivity improvements across various departments within the company,” said Durgesh Mehta, Joint Managing Director, Bombay Dyeing
“We launched Dynamics AX 2012 in India about three months back and the product is bringing to customers a powerful, simple and agile business solution that improves productivity and reduces TCO. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 can unlock greater productivity, enable collaboration throughout the supply chain, and provide immediate insight with RoleTailored access to self-service business intelligence, contextual information, and processes. The natural interaction of ERP systems with Microsoft business productivity applications- Microsoft SharePoint, Windows, Azure, and Microsoft Lync and IT infrastructure technology; Dynamics AX 2012 will help sharpen our competitive edge.” said Samik Roy, Director and Business Head, Microsoft Dynamics (Applications) Business.
He also added, “The customers and prospects are loving the UI, which makes the application very simple to adopt at all levels in an organisation. The rich enhanced capabilities in our latest ERP product are exiting and customers are seeing the value of how well the product can scale to cover many aspects of the business. Retail is a big focus for us in India, especially cause of the way it is going to unfold into the future. We provide one integrated and seamless platform across enhancing customer experience at the stores to buying experience at the store via POS, embedded Microsoft customer loyalty, Microsoft CRM, Online shopping Microsoft Retail solution and ofcourse the rich Microsoft Dynamic AX 2012 ERP to run the backend operations from Manufacturing to Supply Chain to Financials.”
