Chinese tech firm LeTV is planning to enter India’s market soon. Besides bringing smartphones, the company is planning to bring content-based products to India.
Launching its latest smartphone Le 1s, 3D 4K HDTV and 120-inch uMax Super TV in Beijing, LeTV founder and CEO Jia Yueting said: “The company has plans for the US and India markets this year. There is also a plan to focus on locally popular content via partnerships in India. We will be looking for strong partnerships in content and creating a localised content library.”
There are some channels, including sports, which does not have language boundaries. Since the phone is built around the company’s ecosystem, there are plans to develop an ecosystem for India as well, Yueting added. “We are open for partnerships from content providers and will also open our platform and apps to our partners and then aggregate everything to form a new ecosystem,” he said.
Le 1s, world’s first flagship phone with an all-metal body, along with fingerprint ID and fast-charging technology, has been priced at 1099 RMB (Rs 11,000). The Beijing-headquartered LeTV, a manufacturer-marketer of smartphones and other smart devices, has recently set up operations in the US and intends to enter India.
The company also announced updates on its SEE (Super Electric Ecosystem) Program, including completing its strategic positioning in the Internet EV industry and creating an integrated closed-loop ecosystem for product lifecycle management.
