In its second acquisition in the digital space in less than two months, Nasdaq-listed Cognizant said the company had acquired Odecee, a digital solutions provider in Australia and New Zealand. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. In October, Cognizant had acquired Pennsylvania-based Cadient Group for approximately $30 million to strengthen its digital marketing capabilities, especially in the healthcare sector, where Cadient has significant expertise.
The acquisition of Odecee is intended to strengthen Cognizant’s digital business transformation expertise and expand its portfolio of tools and services in the digital enterprises space. It will now have access to Velocedee, a platform that helps to centralise highly secure mobile applications and enables rapid implementation of core business processes across a wide range of mobile devices.
“Rapid consumerisation of technology is driving business reinvention across industries and blurring the distinction between the physical and the digital worlds. As businesses become increasingly technology-intensive and physical processes get instrumented and digitised, our strong portfolio of services, coupled with our aggressive investments in SMAC technologies, will help clients drive meaningful change and build ever more connected, collaborative, and real-time businesses,” said John Burgin, Regional Head for Australia and New Zealand, Cognizant.
