Through this MoU, Capgemini India and the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department aims to explore collaboration for increasing employment potential in the State of Maharashtra by enabling supply of skilled manpower, strengthening training infrastructure, and encouraging adoption of new age technologies across various industries.
Tech giant Capgemini has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Maharashtra. Through this MoU, Capgemini India and the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department aims to explore collaboration for increasing employment potential in the State of Maharashtra by enabling supply of skilled manpower, strengthening training infrastructure, and encouraging adoption of new age technologies across various industries.
Under the MoU, the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Maharashtra will facilitate the availability of manpower for skill development by making the labour management information system (LMIS) available to Capgemini. It will also facilitate development and execution of customized training modules/courses to supply skilled and certified manpower to suit the requirements of Capgemini. Capgemini will extend free of cost technical support and consultancy for design, development and implementation of online and integrated skill development platform of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department. Capgemini will play a major role in developing innovative methods of imparting knowledge and identifying and instituting new age technologies at existing training centres with a view of upgrading the training facilities to global competitive standards. In addition to this, Capgemini will also provide manpower for training and equipping trainers involved in this effort.
The MoU was signed by S. S. Sandhu, Principal Secretary, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Maharashtra and Salil Parekh, Directur General Adjoint & Member of Group Management Board, Capgemini in the presence of Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Also present during the MoU signing was Kishor Chitale, CEO, Local Business Services (India & Middle East), Capgemini and other senior officials from the State government.
