‘1905’ portal and mobile app would offer single window platform for the people to lodge grievances against departments of the state government.

The state government has launched a dedicated web portal and mobile application -‘1905’ – for citizens to register their grievances online with a special corner for senior citizens.

Launching the ‘1905’ portal and mobile app in Chandigarh, Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal informed “1905.Punjab.gov.in” would offer single window platform for the people to lodge grievances against departments of the state government. Toll free helpline number 1905 is already in operation in the state to reach to the Deputy CM besides an email at “[email protected]”.

Badal said manual system has been replaced by complete automation of processing of grievances through ‘1905’. He said every complainant would receive an SMS/email after the registration of grievance and there is provision for tracking of the complaint’s status.

He said timely updates would also be provided to each complainant through SMS or email. Badal said the portal has provision for citizen’s feedback on all departmental helplines, information about helplines of departments and web links of grievance portal.

He said ‘mobile app 1905’ has all features of the ‘1905 web portal’. “From receipt of grievances, receipt of reports from departments to final disposal, all processes,” he added. Deputy CM informed that a format for registering grievances has been provided in portal and app for 10 departments and key areas in them would be identified soon.

“Our aim is to have focused receipt and timely redress of grievances. It would help us understand the area of government departments from where grievances are originating. Consequently it would lead to governance reforms,” he added.

Meanwhile, Badal also launched an SMS service through which ‘Roaming’ Subscribers entering Punjab would receive a welcome message by the government.

“The Govt of Punjab welcomes you to Punjab and wishes a pleasant stay. In case of any help, Please dial Deputy CM’s toll free number 1905,” it would read. Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) including Airtel, Tata, Aircel, BSNL, idea, Vodafone, and others will provide this service under their Corporate Social Responsibility.
