HP today announced enterprise architecture innovations that help customers reduce cost and complexity, accelerate IT service delivery and enable business growth.
The new solutions enable a next-generation data center designed to rapidly virtualise, simplify and automate processes to address evolving business demands. To deliver rapid business value, organisations are looking to big data, cloud, mobility and security to drive revenue.
However, transitioning to the New Style of IT is often hindered by the complexity and disjointed architecture plaguing data centers today. This is fueling the growth of software-defined data centers (SDDCs) – where infrastructure is virtualised, delivered as a service and controlled by software, in an open, agile and cost-effective way – in addition to other data center innovations.
“To meet growing business demands and capture profitable opportunities, organisations need to transform their operations to provide services faster, more efficiently and with fewer resources,” said Som Satsangi, Vice President, Sales, Enterprise Group, HP India. “HP continues to bring to market a range of data center innovations that help IT departments move away from silos created by legacy systems to enterprise architectures that can quickly and efficiently service the business and drive innovation.”
Workloads such as web caching, high-performance computing and big data analytics are fueling exponential demand for compute resources. Additionally, HP is making available a production-ready platform to enable software developers to develop, test and port applications to the 64-bit ARM server.
According to the release issued today, HP is also introducing the new HP ProLiant m800 optimised for real-time data processing of high volume, complex data, such as fraud detection pattern analysis. The 32-bit ARM servers deliver three times more bandwidth and 90%low latency data throughput. IDC predicts that the market for SDN network applications will reach $1.1 billion by 2017, increasing network application vendors’ need for a scalable open marketplace to monetize their innovations. As the first enterprise-grade SDN application ecosystem in the market, the HP SDN App Store redefines the networking business model, offering the developer community a centralised platform connecting to customers around the world.
Customers can now easily discover, learn and purchase specific network applications and download them to their environment for testing and live deployment. The new HP Moonshot servers and related solutions are available through HP and worldwide channel partners. Flexible investment solutions for HP Moonshot servers can provide customers and channel partners with quick access to the latest HP products through a simple, scalable and predictable monthly payment that aligns technology and financial requirements to business needs. Pricing will vary based on model and customer configurations.
The company also said that the SDN App Store will be launched in phases across Asia Pacific and Japan from October 2014. Customers will be able to purchase applications within the store, with payments processed via HP direct (for HP apps) or a relevant channel partner.
