India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), a apex trade body of the Indian Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taipei Computer Association (TCA) with an objective to promote ESDM industry co-operation between India and Taiwan.
The MoU is part of the collaboration with TCA under which IESA will extend support to promote investments for India and set-up of the design and manufacturing ecosystem in the country, also helping the Taiwan based companies to partner with the Indian ecosystem.
Commenting on the collaboration, M. N. Vidyashankar, President – IESA said, “The ESDM landscape is evolving. Today, Taiwan wants to move ahead and invest in other countries. India is positioned among their priority destination, primarily due to its maturity of the market, availability of talents and the expertise India can bring to the ESDM supply chain with components like designing, embedded system, VLSI etc.”
“We consume IT as Information Technology, but it’s time to define IT as India-Taiwan as well. As we dream of IT Manufacturing in India, we should not forget to remember I-T collaboration to convert our dreams into reality,” added Vidyashankar.
As defined in the MoU, both IESA and TCA are committed to work together on the ESDM ecosystem and collaborate to develop stronger ties between India and Taiwan by creating opportunities of investment, providing skill enablement for increased job prospects in the ICT segment.
