Kult 10 is a good 4G enabled entry level smartphone which offers smooth performance, impressive specs, and decent camera quality and battery life

With the gradual launch of 4G services by telecom operators across the country, now the impetus of device makers seem to bring 4G enabled handsets as quickly as possible in the market. However, in this rush, the affordable smartphone segment is also witnessing some good things: The battery life is improving, 3GB RAM is becoming a norm and camera quality is steadily rising.
Recently, the home-grown, Hope Televentures Private Limited, launched its first 4G enabled smartphone with 3GB RAM under the brand name – Kult. Priced at 7,999, the Kult 10 offers smooth performance, decent camera quality and battery life.
Will the maiden attempt of Kult be able to impress the consumers? To know, let us look into the device.
Out of the box: Design and look
Out of the box the first thing you notice about the device is its simple design, which gives it a premium and stylish look. Something similar to Phicomm”s Passion 660 in terms of design but it is not as slim as Passion 660.
The front is dominated by a 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and it offers deep black and good viewing angles. The display is protected with Asahi Dragontrail Glass. The front is also home to front camera on the top, while three capacitive touch keys are placed in the bottom. The keys are unlit, so user may have to spend some time with the device to get familiar with the keys.
The detachable rear panel which is made of plastic is home to Kult branding along with rear camera and LED flash in the back.
The power button and volume rocker keys are placed at the right edge while left edge is completely free from any distraction. The top edge houses a 3.5mm headset jack.
One good thing that Kult has done is that despite the Kult 10 body being slim with the frame size of 7.6mm and weight of about 128 grams, camera is non-protruding – it sits flush with the body.
The phone is comfortable to hold and operate, and non-slippery at the same time but it does attract a lot of smudges and fingerprints everywhere.
Entrails: Software and hardware
The Kult 10 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and its entrails are powered by 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM. Also, it is packed with 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB with the help of a microSD card.
During the review period, the device worked without any hiccup. While doing multitasking or switching between the apps, there was no serious lag to write about. In fact, the device handled some of the graphics intensive games quite smoothly. Also, you can customised some of casino the features to smoothly access vivid icons, gesture support and different built-in functions.
Camera
On the camera front, Kult 10 comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies. Both the camera offer average quality.
Some of the test pictures that I clicked, camera could capture fine details in regular light but same could not be repeated in low light condition and also when you view the pictures at full resolution, you could easily spot the high hue in the image. As far as front camera is concern, it offers pretty decent quality in natural light.
Battery and Connectivity
The device is packed with a replaceable 2,350mAh battery. The overall performance of the battery has been at par with any other Android device in this price range. It offers decent standby time and could last between 5-7 hours with multitasking and continuous data usage. The device supports 2G, 3G, 4G Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.
Should you buy or not?
Overall, Kult 10 is a good 4G enabled entry level smartphone with simple but an attracting design. It offers smooth performance, impressive specs, decent camera quality and battery life. This could be your best buy in this price range.
