MAIT in association with the Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) and Ministry of MSME is organising “MAIT ICT SME Conclave – 2014” across 5 major cities in India namely Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahemdabad and Noida.
The conclave kicks off in Bangalore tomorrow and will proceed to other cities. The idea behind organising the conclave is to promote SMEs in the IT hardware sector by providing them a platform to highlight their issues and develop awareness on various government schemes for the sector that can create a conducive environment for SMEs to function in the country.
Amar Babu, President of MAIT, said “For over three decades, MAIT has been working towards the growth of ICT industry in India and addressing the key concerns of the industry. SMEs, through their rapid growth and proliferation, play a key role in ensuring the growth in the sector remains on track. With this conclave, we aim at providing SMEs an opportunity to engage with various government departments and widen their understanding on various schemes and initiatives on offer that can work towards creating new business opportunities for them”.
The conclave will witness participation from various government agencies from central and state level that will provide a boost to the IT hardware sector.
The government, in the recently presented budget, has focused on measures related to the development of the SME sector in the country. SME Conclave will equip the SMEs to prepare themselves thoroughly for evaluating the business opportunities and take necessary actions in developing their enterprises with the help of IT to achieve business goals. It will also provide the SMEs a networking opportunity for connecting with various government officials and policy makers.
