Networking company MRO-TEK Ltd said that it intended to target third generation (3G) and fourth generation (4G) services backhaul by expanding its carrier grade access technology offering in the next two years.
“Voice revenues in the telecom sector are going down but data has come up as a profitable opportunity and that is the area that we are focusing on. We are collaborating with all of the big telecom players to help them offer high speed Internet on fiber as well as copper infrastructure,” said Johnson J, Vice President – Marketing, MRO-TEK Ltd. Telecom segment accounts for nearly 50% of MRO-TEK’s overall revenues.
The company invested about Rs 50 lakh last year in research and development to upgrade its product portfolio.
It plans to tap new markets in next one year, including smaller towns through telecom service providers.
The company expects to record a sales growth of 30% this year, same as the last year.
“Integrating Ethernet solutions over standard carrier networks is a simple way of handling a growing traffic effectively and manage a network efficiently. This is crucial where telcos and ISPs are deploying remote VPNs for SMBs and SOHOs,” said Madhava M, Vice President – Technology, MRO-TEK Ltd.
“We are offering last mile data solutions to our customers. Our products can function on fiber as well as copper platform; negating the need for them to deploy a fresh fiber network,” added Madhava.
MRO-TEK Ltd reported a sales turnover of Rs 13.64 crore and a net loss of Rs 4.63 crore for the quarter ended March 2012.
