NEC India has announced the latest generation of its Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) software, UNIVERGE Cloud Services, for Indian SMBs and enterprises. The services include a comprehensive suite of voice, data and video services featuring a Web-based end-user client that is deployable across PCs, smartphones and tablets. The Cloud service integrates multiple communication and collaboration tools such as, IP telephony, voicemail, audio and video conferencing, as well as Web collaboration, presence and IM and contact centers.
Ravinder Raina, Country Head – Private Network Solutions (PNS), NEC India Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are strong in the SME space in India and we see strong uptake of Cloud-based unified communication solutions occurring amongst large as well as small & medium enterprises. Indian SMEs currently contribute to about 60% of NEC’s revenues in the telephony space. With the launch of this solution we aim to target this segment is a more focused manner. With our suite of customized telephony solutions, we aim to attain 35% market share in the Indian SME segment during FY2012-13.”
NEC’s UCaaS is based on a software-based unified communications and collaboration solution that is adaptable to private, hybrid and public-cloud deployment models. The service will offer a wide variety of features that include video collaboration, IP telephony, unified messaging and voicemail, Web collaboration & conferencing, mobility and fixed-mobile convergence, softphone, presence and IM, contact center capabilities, 24/7 x 365 customer support, secured Network Operations Center (NOC) services and more.
