Reasons Why Scheduling Emails on Gmail Is The Smart Way
The schedule email option was being introduced by Gmail last year, the feature is available both for desktop and mobile users. What’s more interesting is that about 100 emails can be scheduled by Gmail users. Here are the reasons for considering it as a smart work.
A lot of times people have to wait back in office in order to send an important email across, or worse, most of the times people fail to send emails, leading to further problems. Scheduling emails is the perfect solution, in order to curb the forgetful nature of people, and also not many people know about it.
How To Schedule Emails?
On Desktop
One needs to open the Gmail desktop version on their system, and click on the Compose mail option on the top left-hand corner of the machine, next you need to click on the ‘Compose’ mail option on the top left-hand corner of the machine.
Now, you would need to enter the recipient’s email id, the subject and the body, and the drop-down arrow next to the send option. Next, one would need to scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and click on the Schedule send option to schedule an email. By default, it shows three options, however, the user can pick up his own date and time.
On Phone
To schedule on the phone, one needs to open the Gmail app first. Once opened, one needs to click on the create mail or ‘+’ option, and then enter the recipients’ email id, subject of the mail, and the body.
After that one needs to click on the ‘…’ button, that is next to the send arrow at the top right corner of the screen, and then click on Schedule send. Like that of the desktop version, it would be showing three options that says tomorrow morning, tomorrow afternoon, and lets users pick their date and time, in order to schedule the mail.
Quite interestingly, Gmail also lets one changed the scheduled time and date, once it’s scheduled. In order to re-edit the mail, one needs to click on ‘Scheduled’ on the left corner of the desktop screen. A scheduled email can be cancelled whenever one wants to. Normally, a cancelled scheduled email turns into a draft.
