Snapdeal brings rural artisans of Tamil Nadu online

Snapdeal.com has signed a MOU with Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation, a Government of Tamil Nadu Enterprise, for online promotion and selling of traditional Handicrafts from Tamil Nadu.

These elaborate handicrafts showcase the profuse history of Tamil culture that has been carried over generations and speaks endlessly of the rich tradition. Ranging from unique brass products or stone & wood carvings or sandalwood products, these varied crafts add elegance and splendor to consumers’ taste & lifestyle all over the world.

As a part of this partnership, Snapdeal will create a dedicated store exclusively selling Handicrafts from Tamil Nadu under the brand name of ‘Poompuhar’. Through this exclusive store, Snapdeal will equip the artisans with online cataloguing and help them refine their product offerings through its data analytics tools. The Poompuhar-Snapdeal store set to be launched in March 2015, will let customers shop for a wide range of signature products like brass products, stone & wood carvings, sandalwood products etc.
