SUSE today said it is making available high availability (HA) capabilities for deployments of the SAP HANA platform via SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP applications.
SUSE is one of the first to bring its open source HA capabilities to SAP HANA, which can help customers save money as they create highly available SAP HANA-based solutions using their existing SUSE infrastructure.
“Customers with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications can now easily deploy highly available SAP HANA-based systems using the built-in SUSE HA capabilities,” said Michael Miller, Vice President – Global Alliances and Marketing, SUSE. “Both existing and new customers using SAP HANA in mission-critical and large-scale environments where the high availability absolutely matters will immediately benefit from these outstanding SUSE HA capabilities.”

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP applications includes components of SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension, the most complete open source clustering solution. Proven in data centres around the world, SUSE Linux Enterprise HA Extension helps enterprises protect mission-critical workloads running on x86 servers.
Using the high availability component of SUSE Linux Enterprise for SAP applications, including the new resource agents, customers can automate their system replication of SAP HANA to optimize database availability, especially with the memory pre-loading capabilities of SAP HANA.
