The Covid-19 pandemic struck and pushed several individuals out of their jobs, leading to distress in livelihood. In the first wave alone, India recorded its highest rate of unemployment. However, the second wave and the subsequent nationwide lockdowns hit at the time when organisations were recovering from the effect of the first lockdown. This aggravated the situation and most of the employees serving in different organisations across the country were either asked to step out of their jobs and the rest were being asked to wait until the situation improves. The subsequent lockout worsened living conditions and thereby led to financial crunches and economic downfall.
