VMware, Inc has announced that Tata AIA Life Insurance has selected its virtualization and Cloud infrastructure technology. The company has deployed vSphere to virtualize its IT infrastructure. The deployment has helped Tata AIA Insurance consolidate its IT infrastructure from over 90 servers to only 10, helping it save in capital and operational expenditure.
Tata AIA has also invested in a disaster recovery solution to protect its IT infrastructure and data with vCenter Site Recovery Manager. “As one of India’s leading life insurance companies, our priority is to optimize our IT support services and invest those savings back in the business to offer our customers a better experience. After evaluating options available, we were confident that VMware could help us achieve these goals,” said Samrat Das, Chief Information Officer, Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Limited.
“The highly competitive life insurance market in India requires players to be agile and to be able to quickly respond to changing market dynamics, while saving costs and meeting business objectives,” said T Srinivasan, Managing Director, VMware India & SAARC. “We are pleased to partner with Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Limited, one of India’s leading life insurance players, and we believe that our products will help enable them to drive many of their business priorities.”
