Days after a string of characters was discovered that could crash the Messages app on the iPhone, a similar bug has been found on Skype.
According to The Verge, receiving a message containing characters: “http://:” on Skype crashes the software when running on Windows, Android and iOS. However, Skype for Mac and the touch-optimized Skype for Windows 8.1 will be unaffected.
The problem was first reported on Skype’s forums. A spokesperson confirmed the bug’s existence to VentureBeat, saying they were working to provide a solution.
