Uninor, the mobile operator which is a 100% subsidiary of Norwegian telecom major Telenor, will henceforth be known as Telenor India as the company has completed the exercise of its rebranding.
Positioning and branding its services further in India as the the most affordable telecom service provider, Telenor India has also replaced its tagline to “Ab life full paisa vasool” from “Sabse Sasta”.
“The brand change is a reflection of our commitment to India and our mass market consumers as we promise to offer superior value in meeting their evolving needs through affordable, easy to use and fair means. Today marks an important name change for our 3,500 employees in India too,” said Morten Karlsen Sorby, the Telenor Group’s head for Asia Region.
Telenor India said the company continues to offer compensation for call drops much before the debate which has initiated in the past few months.
Telenor India CEO Vivek Sood said the company takes the responsibility for a call drop as it’s committed to providing quality service to its customers. “Hence, we are extending call drop reimbursements to all calls, local, STD or international calls. Earlier, it was being offered on local calls only,” Sood said.
“We will continue to offer the most affordable services and deliver innovative solutions like call drop reimbursement and customised product offers. The customer wants us to be fair,” Sood said.
